To examine the effect of desmopressin (DDAVP) on bladder contraction and on the neurons that fire in relation to spontaneous bladder contraction (bladder-related neurons) in and around Barrington's nucleus, the micturition center. DDAVP is used for the treatment of nocturnal enuresis because of its antidiuretic action, but the mechanism of this action has not been proved.
