Transiently altering the atrial activation sequence induces atrial memory, manifested as an altered atrial gradient as measured in electrocardiographic XYZ leads. We hypothesized that protracted periods of left atrial impulse initiation alter the atrial gradient in a manner predictive of arrhythmias.
