Cytoplasmic particles of the slime-mold, Physarum polycephalum, incorporate tritiated thymidine in a form which is insoluble in acid and in ribonuclease, and soluble in deoxyribonuclease. Evidence for the mitochondrial nature of these thymidine-incorporating particles is based on their distribution, size, and staining behavior.
