An unusual case of massive bleeding per rectum caused by erosion into the caecum of placental tissue from an ectopic pregnancy is presented. Despite its rarity, abdominal pregnancies may have to be considered in sexually active fertile women presenting with difficult torrential bleeding from the lower gastrointestinal tract.
