The need for improved cancer control led to investigation of the combined-modality therapy for many cancers. This review is an attempt to analyse possible mechanism of interaction between chemotherapy and radiotherapy and shows the possibilities of simultaneous application of both treatment modalities in the therapy of cancer diseases. Benefits of this method of combined therapy are reviewed and strategies of using chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat different cancers are showed.
