Patients with severe atheromatous aortic disease (AAD) undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) have increased operative risks. The "off-pump" CABG (OPCAB) technique was evaluated in patients given the diagnosis of severe AAD by routine transesophageal echocardiography.
