This study was undertaken to investigate the haemodynamic effect of non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV) in patients after cardiac surgery. NPPV has recently become popular as method for treating acute respiratory failure. Its influence on cardiopulmonary haemodynamics is still unknown.
