Pimecrolimus cream 1% (Elidel, SDZ ASM 981), a nonsteroid selective inhibitor of inflammatory cytokines, is effective in the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD). In this study we compared early intervention with pimecrolimus cream with treatment with a vehicle control.
