Preeclampsia is characterized by endothelial cell dysfunction, and lipid peroxidation and alterations of immune responses may be involved in the pathogenesis of this disease. The aim of the present study was to examine changes in plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) level, an indicator of lipid peroxidation, and adenosine deaminase (ADA) activity, as a marker of T-cell activation in preeclampsia, and evaluated the possible relationship between those parameters in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
