The PlA2 polymorphism of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (fibrinogen) receptor has been associated with increased restenosis and stent thrombosis. We postulated that this allele could alter the antiplatelet effect of abciximab in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention.
