An overview of the approach to the surgical management of orbital trauma used within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Washington is presented. In particular this paper discusses our experiences with the use of transconjunctival incisions, a modified technique for the harvesting of cranial bone grafts, and the use of intra-operative C-T scanning. Also presented are the results of two studies performed on aspects of the management of orbital trauma within the Department.
