KIE: A Mount Sinai Medical School investigation has resulted in an admission by former employee Joseph H. Cort that he had misrepresented drug research that figured in articles, a patent, and an NIH grant application. Mount Sinai was alerted to the fabrication of data by the Vega Technology Company of Tucson, which funded the drug studies. Mount Sinai is proposing new policies and procedures to "assure the integrity of scientific research," including regular peer review, better supervision, and a permanent research review committee.
