It is important to clarify the participation of periodontal ligament (PDL) cells in the regeneration of alveolar bone to establish a reliable approach for obtaining periodontal regeneration. The aim of this study was to determine whether PDL cells play an important role in alveolar bone repair during the course of periodontal regeneration.
