Lipodystrophy and associated metabolic abnormalities are being increasingly recognized as complications of juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM). We investigated the prevalence of lipodystrophy and the extent of metabolic abnormalities related to lipoatrophic diabetes mellitus in patients with JDM.
