To investigate the effect of thalidomide on glucose turnover (glucose production and uptake), on intracellular pathways of glucose utilization (glycogen synthesis [GS], glycolysis [GLS], carbohydrate oxidation, and nonoxidative GLS), and on free fatty acid (FFA) turnover (lipolysis, FFA oxidation, and FFA reesterification).
