Membranectomy and myectomy are standard therapy for discrete subaortic stenosis (DS) and are associated with low rates of endocarditis, recurrence, and aortic insufficiency. Extensive myectomy increases risk of complications such as conduction tissue damage and iatrogenic ventricular septal defect (VSD).
