A cirsoid aneurysm of the artery to the second part of the duodenum was demonstrated by arteriography in a 31 year old man who had had two severe unexplained bouts of gastrointestinal hemorrhage. The diagnosis was confirmed by surgical intervention, and in order to avoid duodenopancreatectomy, the malformation was treated by embolization of the gastroduodenal artery during the operation.
