Pulmonary sequestration is a rare malformation which is characterised by lacking connection to the bronchial system and by atypical arterial blood supply. Unidentifiable tumorous, cystic or infiltrative lung diseases, especially of the lower lobes, should always lead to aortography to exclude pulmonary sequestration.
