Hepatocyte transplantation using three-dimensional matrices is under investigation as an alternative therapy for several liver diseases. For sufficient transplantation results hepatotrophic stimulation is necessary. We investigated the stimulatory effect of cotransplanted pancreatic islets in different ratios.
