3.1.1.5, Phospholipase B 2
http://www.biopax.org/relea...
FUNCTION: Sequentially removes both fatty acyl groups from diacylglycerophospholipids and therefore has both phospholipase A and lysophospholipase activities. Substrate preference is phosphatidylserine > phosphatidylinositol > phosphatidylcholine > phosphatidylethanolamine. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: 2-lysophosphatidylcholine + H(2)O = glycerophosphocholine + a carboxylate. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted, cell wall. Membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor. Note=Covalently-linked GPI-modified cell wall protein (GPI-CWP). PTM: The GPI-anchor is attached to the protein in the endoplasmic reticulum and serves to target the protein to the cell surface. There, the glucosamine-inositol phospholipid moiety is cleaved off and the GPI-modified mannoprotein is covalently attached via its lipidless GPI glycan remnant to the 1,6-beta-glucan of the outer cell wall layer. MISCELLANEOUS: Present with 623 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium. SIMILARITY: Belongs to the lysophospholipase family. SIMILARITY: Contains 1 PLA2c domain. COPYRIGHT: Protein annotation is derived from the UniProt Consortium (http://www.uniprot.org/). Distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs License.
