UMD: Antimicrobial dressings impregnated with bismuth tribromophenate (BTP). The most common substrate used in these dressings is gauze, but other fabrics are also used. BTP-impregnated antimicrobial dressings reduce the number of and/or kill microorganisms (e.g., bacteria); they are intended mainly to reduce the risk of infections in wounds.
