NCI: Human LRIG1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 3p14 and is approximately 122 kb in length. This allele, which encodes leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domains protein 1, plays a role in the modulation of signal transduction. Aberrant expression of the gene may be associated with increased breast cancer risk.
