Mutations in the genes that encode keratin-1 have been associated with HYPERKERATOSIS, EPIDERMOLYTIC.,NCI: Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 1 (644 aa, ~66 kDa) is encoded by the human KRT1 gene. This protein is involved in the development of the epidermis.
