NCI: Human PDGFB wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 22q13.1 and is approximately 22 kb in length. This allele, which encodes platelet-derived growth factor B chain protein, is involved in mitogenesis for mesenchymal cells. Mutations in the gene produce allelic variants that are associated with meningioma.
