NCI: Human DLG4 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 17p13.1 and is approximately 30 kb in length. This allele, which encodes discs large homolog 4 protein, plays a role in NMDA receptor signaling. Decreased DLG4 gene expression is associated with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
