NCI: Describes the relative amount of different tissues present in the breast. A dense breast has less fat than glandular and connective tissue. Mammogram films of breasts with higher density are harder to read and interpret than those of less dense breasts.,CSP: relative proportion of fat, connective tissue, and glandular epithelial tissue in the breast; while denser breasts are more difficult to evaluate with mammorgaphy, older women whose mammograms show more dense tissue are at increased risk of breast cancer.
