NCI: Transcription factor MafG (162 aa, ~18 kDa) is encoded by the human MAFG gene. This protein plays a role in the regulation of globin gene expression.,MSH: MafG is a ubiquitously expressed small maf protein that is involved in CELL DIFFERENTIATION of ERYTHROCYTES. It dimerizes with P45 NF-E2 PROTEIN and activates expression of ALPHA-GLOBIN and BETA-GLOBIN.
