NCI: A cytogenetic abnormality that refers to the allelic loss of the chromosomal arm 1p. It has been described in gliomas, meningiomas, neuroblastomas, hepatocellular carcinomas, breast carcinomas, acinar prostate adenocarcinomas, pancreatic carcinomas, and adrenal gland adenomas.
