GO: The process whose specific outcome is the progression of a limb over time, from its formation to the mature structure. A limb is an appendage of an animal used for locomotion or grasping. Examples include legs, arms or some types of fin. [GOC:dgh, GOC:dph, PMID:11487378],NCI: Interdependent positional signaling by the apical ectodermal ridge, the posterior mesenchyme zone of polarizing activity, and the non ridge ectoderm coordinate limb bud outgrowth and patterning, Limb Development, by migrated lateral plate mesoderm and somite cells. Proximal-distal differentiating mesenchymal cells condense to form the limb skeletal primordia.
