NCI: A papillary transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder, characterized by marked architectural and cytologic abnormalities and frequent mitotic figures (at all levels of the urothelium). This type of carcinoma is commonly associated with invasive disease at the time of presentation. -- 2003
