MSH: The process of generating three-dimensional images by electronic, photographic, or other methods. For example, three-dimensional images can be generated by assembling multiple tomographic images with the aid of a computer, while photographic 3-D images (HOLOGRAPHY) can be made by exposing film to the interference pattern created when two laser light sources shine on an object.,NCI: Technique to produce 3D images to provide the ability to visualize important structures in great detail. Traditionally CT and MRI scans produced static output on film. To produce 3D images, many scans are made, and then combined by computers to produce a 3D model, which can then be manipulated by the physician. 3D ultrasounds are produced using a somewhat similar technique.
