UMD: Balloon angioplasty catheters designed for percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty that permit local infusion of drugs either before, during or after dilatation of the lesion. These catheters usually consist of a coronary angioplasty catheter including a typical inner angioplasty balloon and an outer porous balloon with multiple laser-drilled holes which is insufflated through a separate channel. These catheters are used for local administration of concentrated drugs directly to the site of arterial injury during coronary angioplasty procedures.
