NCI: This gene plays a role in receptor tyrosine phosphorylation signal transduction, and is thought to play a role in cellular growth or differentiation, but an exact function has not been substantiated.,NCI: Highly-expressed in a variety of tumor cell lines, human Oncogene ROS is a mutated variant of ROS1 Gene, which belongs to the sevenless subfamily of tyrosine kinase insulin receptor genes. The encoded type I integral membrane protein, Tyrosine-Protein Kinase ROS, with tyrosine kinase activity may function as a growth or differentiation factor receptor. Oncogene ROS1 disrupts normal cell function.
