GO: Any chromosome other than a sex chromosome. [GOC:mah],CSP: any ordinary chromosome alike in males and females, as distinguished from sex chromosomes; in humans there are normally 22 pairs of autosomes.,NCI: Refers to any of the chromosomes numbered 1-22 or the genes on chromosomes 1-22. This term excludes the sex-determining chromosomes, X and Y.,NCI: A chromosome not involved in sex determination. The diploid human genome consists of a total of 46 chromosomes which includes 22 pairs of autosomes.
