NCI: An epithelial cell lining the endometrial cavity, located in the uterus. These cells proliferate and respond to the cyclic variations of estrogen and progesterone. They synthesize or transport and secrete substances essential for survival and development of the embryo/fetus and associated extraembryonic membranes.
