NCI: Any bacterial organism that can be assigned to the species Aerococcus urinae.,NCI: A species of Gram positive, cocci shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Firmicutes. This bacteria is nonmotile, catalase negative, alpha hemolytic, urease negative and produces acid from D mannitol, D sorbitol and sucrose. A. urinae is found in the urinary tract and is associated with urinary tract infections, sepsis, and endocarditis.
