NCI: A species of obligately aerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This bacteria is motile, oxidase positive, catalase positive, does not reduce nitrates and degrades urea. A. faecalis is found in soil, water, and fecal matter and is an opportunistic pathogen in humans.,NCI: Any bacterial organism that can be assigned to the species Alcaligenes faecalis.,MSH: The type species of gram negative bacteria in the genus ALCALIGENES, found in soil.
