MSH: A short pro-domain caspase that plays an effector role in APOPTOSIS. It is activated by INITIATOR CASPASES such as CASPASE 9. Isoforms of this protein exist due to multiple alternative splicing of its MESSENGER RNA.,NCI: Caspase-3 (277 aa, ~31 kDa) is encoded by the human CASP3 gene. This protein is involved in the mediation of proteolysis and the activation of apoptosis.
