UMD: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning systems with small-bore diameter (typically 20 to 30 cm) that only allow imaging of the extremities of the body (e.g., limb, joint) and whose magnetic fields usually range from 0.1 to 0.3 Tesla. These systems include specialized surface coils for the extremities (e.g., extremity, knee, head).
