MSH: A signal transducing tumor necrosis factor receptor associated factor that is involved in TNF RECEPTOR feedback regulation. It is similar in structure and appears to work in conjunction with TNF RECEPTOR-ASSOCIATED FACTOR 1 to inhibit APOPTOSIS.,NCI: TRAF2 is a homo- or (with TRAF1) heterodimer adaptor protein for TNFR1, TNFR2, and CD40 that mediates activation of NFKB. TRAF2 contains a TRAF motif known to bind kinases involved in TRAF-mediated signaling, a Zn RING finger, and cysteine/histidine-rich motifs. E2F1 can down regulate TRAF2 and inhibit anti-apoptotic NFKB signals. (from OMIM 601895 and NCI)
