MSH: A fulminating bacterial infection of the deep layers of the skin and FASCIA. It can be caused by many different organisms, with STREPTOCOCCUS PYOGENES being the most common.,NCI: Infection of the deep skin and subcutaneous tissues and necrosis of the fascia. It is caused by bacteria including group A streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus and Clostridium perfringens. It may develop following trauma and invasive procedures.
