UMD: Pads designed to cushion a patient's heel and lower leg when placed in a table heel stirrup, providing comfort and reducing the risk of sores during long procedures. These pads typically consist of soft material (e.g., foam) and are the appropriate shape and size for location on the heel stirrup; they are usually supplied in pairs. Heel stirrup pads are mainly used for patients in lithotomyc positions for obstetric, urologic, colon, or rectal procedures.
