SPN: A densitometer is a device used to measure the transmission of light through an indicator in a sample of blood.,UMD: Measuring instruments used to determine the amount of mass per unit of volume. By extension, the term is also applied to the measurement of any unit per unit of volume, area, or length. Some densitometers can also determine the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a standard substance (usually water) at a specific temperature, measuring the specific gravity.
