UMD: Devices designed to be used to secure a catheter that has been inserted in place. The designs of these devices vary according to the intended use; typically, these devices incorporate some type of locking mechanism that attaches to the portion of the catheter that is external to the patient, as well as sections (e.g., wings, straps) that are coated with adhesive or other attachment mechanisms (e.g., velcro) that can be used to attach the holder to the patient's leg, arm, wrist, etc.
