Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase 1

Source:http://linkedlifedata.com/resource/umls/id/C0170168

MSH: A proline-directed serine/threonine protein kinase which mediates signal transduction from the cell surface to the nucleus. Activation of the enzyme by phosphorylation leads to its translocation into the nucleus where it acts upon specific transcription factors. p40 MAPK and p41 MAPK are isoforms.,NCI: Mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (390 aa, ~41 kDa) is encoded by the human MAPK1 gene. This protein plays a role in cell cycle regulation, signal transduction, transcriptional regulation and serine/threonine phosphorylation.
