MSH: A species of temperate bacteriophage in the genus P1-like viruses, family MYOVIRIDAE, which infects E. coli. It is the largest of the COLIPHAGES and consists of double-stranded DNA, terminally redundant, and circularly permuted.,CSP: temperate tailed phagae; does not integrate into host chromosome; prophage resembles plasmid and replicates autonomously at low numbers.,NCI: A double-stranded DNA virus that infects E. coli and other enteric bacteria. Additionally, this phage is used in molecular biotechnology as a cloning vector for eukaryotic DNA.
