NCI: L-dopachrome tautomerase (519 aa, ~59 kDa) is encoded by the human DCT gene. This protein is involved in the biosynthesis of melanin.,PDQ: A recombinant therapeutic agent which is chemically identical to or similar to an endogenous non-mutated melanocyte differentiation antigen expressed by both normal and malignant melanocytes. Vaccinations with recombinant tyrosinase-related protein-2 may elicit an antitumoral cytotoxic T-cell response against tumor cells and some normal cells that express tyrosinase-related protein-2.
