MSH: A RHO GTP-BINDING PROTEIN involved in regulating signal transduction pathways that control assembly of focal adhesions and actin stress fibers. This enzyme was formerly listed as EC 3.6.1.47.,NCI: RHO A GTP-binding protein is involved in regulating signal transduction pathways that control assembly of focal adhesions and actin stress fibers. Rho regulates remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton during cell morphogenesis and motility. Active Rho signals to its downstream effector ROCK1, which phosphorylates and activates LIM kinase. LIM kinase, in turn, phosphorylates cofilin, inhibiting its actin-depolymerizing activity. (from OMIM 165390 and NCI)
