NCI: Basigin (385 aa, ~42 kDa) is encoded by the human BSG gene. This protein is involved in signal transduction that mediates protease gene expression, implantation, sperm formation and neural development.,MSH: A widely distributed cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein that stimulates the synthesis of MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASES. It is found at high levels on the surface of malignant NEOPLASMS and may play a role as a mediator of malignant cell behavior.
