MSH: The distance and direction to which a bone joint can be extended. Range of motion is a function of the condition of the joints, muscles, and connective tissues involved. Joint flexibility can be improved through appropriate MUSCLE STRETCHING EXERCISES.,NCI: A measure of joint flexibility, range of motion is the normal range of movement for a joint, consisting of flexion, how far it can bend, and extension, how far it can stretch. It is usually measured by the number of degrees from the starting position of a segment to its position at the end of its arc.
